9.2.0 CTRTransfer

This is add-on section for installing a 9.2.0 CTRTransfer image to your device.

To use the magnet links on this page, you will need a torrent client like Deluge

Note that a New 2DS that CTRTransfers to any of these images will be missing special New 2DS system titles. These titles are not contained on Nintendo’s Servers, and thus will not be installed even if you update to the latest version. You will need to install these titles manually after updating for your device to be recognized by the software as a New 2DS rather than a New 3DS. Instructions for installing these titles will be added to this guide soon.

Note that, on some versions of Luma3DS, the Luma3DS chainloader menu is only displayed if there is more than one payload detected. If there is only one payload detected, holding (Start) on boot will directly launch GodMode9.

Never format a New 2DS while on a version <11.4.0 without the New 2DS XL specific titles installed or you will be unable to complete initial setup!

You MUST have already installed Luma3DS and boot9strap or arm9loaderhax to use this.

What you need

• The latest release of GodMode9
• The latest release of FBI
• The 9.2.0 CTRTransfer image for your device and region
  (if your device is not from one of these regions, just pick one that matches your device type):
  • - New 3DS or 2DS - 9.2.0 - EUR - CTRTransfer
  • - New 3DS or 2DS - 9.2.0 - JPN - CTRTransfer
  • - New 3DS or 2DS - 9.2.0 - USA - CTRTransfer

  • - Old 3DS or 2DS - 9.2.0 - EUR - CTRTransfer
  • - Old 3DS or 2DS - 9.2.0 - JPN - CTRTransfer
  • - Old 3DS or 2DS - 9.2.0 - USA - CTRTransfer

Instructions

Section I - Prep Work

1. Power off your device
2. Insert your SD card into your computer
3. Create a folder named cias on the root of your SD card if it does not already exist
4. Create a folder named files9 on the root of your SD card if it does not already exist
5. Copy GodMode9.firm from the GodMode9 .zip to the /luma/payloads/ folder on your SD card
6. Copy the 9.2.0 CTRTransfer image .bin from the CTRTransfer .zip to the /files9/ folder on your SD card
7. Copy FBI.cia from the FBI .zip to the /cias/ folder on your SD card
8. Reinsert your SD card into your device

Section II - CTRTransfer

1. Launch the Luma3DS chainloader menu by holding (Start) during boot
2. Launch GodMode9 by pressing (A)
3. Navigate to [0:] SDCARD -> files9
4. Press (A) on the CTRTransfer .bin to select it
5. Select “CTRNAND options…”
6. Select “Transfer image to CTRNAND”
7. If prompted, select “Transfer to SysNAND”
   • This prompt will only appear if you have an EmuNAND
8. Press (A) to unlock SysNAND (lvl1) writing, then input the key combo given
   • This process will take some time
9. Once the transfer has completed, press (A) to continue
10. Press (B) twice to return to the main menu
11. Navigate to [1:] SYSNAND CTRNAND -> dbs
12. Press (A) on ticket.bak to select it, then select “Ticket.db options…”, then select “Mount image to drive”
13. If it exists, hold (R) and press (A) at the same time on eshop to select the folder, then select “Copy to 0:/gm9out”
    • This process may take some time if you have many tickets
    • Once it has completed, press (A) to continue
14. If it exists, hold (R) and press (A) at the same time on unknown to select the folder, then select “Copy to 0:/gm9out”
    • This process may take some time if you have many tickets
    • Once it has completed, press (A) to continue
15. Press (Start) to reboot your device
16. Update your device by going to System Settings, then “Other Settings”, then going all the way to the right and using “System Update”
    • Updates while using B9S + Luma (what you have) are safe
    • If this gives you an error, set your DNS settings to “auto”

Section III - Injecting FBI

1. Reboot holding (Start) during boot to launch the Luma3DS chainloader menu
2. Launch GodMode9 by pressing (A)
3. Navigate to [0:] SDCARD -> cias
4. Press (A) on FBI.cia to select it, then select “CIA image options…”, then select “Mount image to drive”
5. Press (A) on the .app file, then select “NCCH image options”, then select “Inject to H&S”
6. Press (A) to unlock SysNAND (lvl1) writing, then input the key combo given
7. Press (A) to continue
8. Press (Start) to reboot your device
9. If you still launch to the stock Health & Safety app and have downgraded with Gateway in the past, follow this troubleshooting guide

Section IV - Reinstalling Tickets

If you had no eshop or unknown folders earlier, skip this section.

1. Launch Health and Safety (which is now FBI)
2. Navigate to SD -> cias
3. Select “FBI.cia”
4. Select the “Install” option, then press (A) to confirm
5. Return to the SD directory with (B)
6. Select “gm9out”
7. Do the following process for either the eshop folder, unknown folder, or both
   • Navigate to the folder
   • Select “<current directory>”
   • Select “Install and delete all tickets”
   • Wait. The system may appear to freeze, just give it time.
   • Press (A) to confirm
   • Press (B) to decline installing tickets from CDN.
8. Press (Home) to exit FBI

Section V - Restore Health and Safety

1. Reboot holding (Start) during boot to launch the Luma3DS chainloader menu
2. Launch GodMode9 by pressing (A)
3. Press (Home) to bring up the action menu
4. Select “More…”
5. Select “Restore H&S”
6. Press (A) to unlock SysNAND (lvl1) writing, then input the key combo given

Section VI - Remove CTRTransfer image

1. Navigate to [0:] SDCARD -> files9
2. Press (X) on the CTRTransfer image .bin to delete it
3. Press (A) to confirm
4. Press (Start) to reboot your device
